PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - Garut Regional Secretary (Sekda), Nurdin Yana, attended the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) Acceleration of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Achievements which took place at Bale Tingtrim Pujasega, Jalan Otista, Tarogong Kaler District, Garut Regency (31/5/2024 ).

On this occasion, the Garut Regional Secretary touched on Presidential Regulation Number 18 of 2020 concerning the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2020-2024, in which the central government has targeted the achievement of UHC for National Health Insurance (JKN) participation in 2024 at 98 percent.

"As of April 2024, national JKN participation has reached 96.91 percent. Meanwhile, as of May 2024, Garut Regency has only reached 89.40 percent," said Nurdin.

In this regard, added Nurdin, Garut Regency is one of 7 districts in West Java that has not yet achieved 95 percent UHC.

He said, based on the Garut Regent's Instruction Number KS.01/3063/Kesra concerning Optimizing the Implementation of the National Health Insurance Program, the Garut Regency Government has provided policy direction so that future efforts are needed in order to accelerate Garut Regency's UHC achievements.

He revealed that the regional government has a budget capacity that is projected to be able to increase new JKN membership in Garut Regency by 114 thousand people, so that Garut Regency's UHC achievement is projected to be 93.94 percent in December 2024.

With limited APBD, Nurdin said that regional governments cannot only rely on APBD alone, but also need to explore financing potential with a social approach with all stakeholders.

"For example, the involvement of the private sector, companies, hospitals, clinics and health centers through health insurance donations as a corporate social and environmental responsibility or other forms of social approaches," he said. (Diskominfo Garut/Fauziah)
