PORTALJABAR, DISTRICT. GARUT - The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, revealed that the significant impact of the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that struck several days ago was estimated to be losses of around IDR 5.8 billion, although this amount is still being studied.
"I think there are two points in the losses that Mr. Kalak conveyed, one is damage, the second is loss. The difference in this qualification is that the damage is due to people's goods being lost, while the connotation of loss is our assets being lost," said Nurdin when interviewed after the Land Movement, Landslide and Earthquake Disaster Emergency Response Coordination Meeting, which was held at the Garut Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Office, Monday (29/4/2024).
According to Nurdin, these losses do not only refer to physical damage to community property, but also involve regional assets that were lost in this disaster. From the data submitted, it was recorded that 245 housing units were damaged, 18 public facilities (fasum) were also affected, and no less than 6 people were injured as a result of the earthquake.
Regarding recovery in society, what will be carried out is by shifting budget allocations.
The treatment that will be carried out by the Garut Regency Regional Government (Pemdakab), continued Nurdin, will be based on data from related agencies, especially the Housing and Settlement Service (Disperkim) and the Garut Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (Dinas PUPR), which carries out verification. and validation of damage to houses, public facilities and social facilities affected by the earthquake.
In post-disaster management efforts, the Garut District Government plans to allocate stimulant funds to repair the damage that occurred. The assistance schemes that will be provided vary, where houses that experience heavy damage will receive assistance regulated by the regent's decision (kepbup).
"For example, 8 (heavily damaged) times Rp. 5 (million) is what is obtained, then how many times are there, and for light ones, that is the scheme we will carry out. But God willing, it will be determined based on the Regent's Decree," he said.
To ensure the distribution of aid is right on target and efficient, the process of determining policies and budget allocations will be based on valid data obtained from the relevant agencies.
Nurdin also explained that his party was collecting the latest data from the sub-district until 22.00 WIB tonight, which would be the basis for determining further policies. The hope is that the policies established can provide sustainable solutions for the interests of the affected communities.
"We have established this policy to provide (and) establish a sustainability policy for the existing recovery. If we continue to wait for it to be completed, that's it. Well, hopefully the addition will not be significant, so it can be covered by the submissions we have determined," he said .
In this coordination meeting, operational assistance was handed over in the form of cash amounting to IDR 150 million, as well as logistical support and equipment from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), namely 2 sets of refugee tents, 25 sets of family tents, 2 units of portable pump, 1 unit of light tower. , 100 sheets of blanket, 100 sheets of mattress, 50 packages of hygiene kit, 100 packages of basic necessities, 100 pouches of ready-to-eat food, and 100 packages of food and baby equipment, were symbolically received by the Chief Executive (Kalak) of Garut Regency BPBD Aah Anwar Saefulloh.
