
PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Regional Government (Pemdaprov) will convert the Sarimukti Landfill into a waste-to-energy plant. This was confirmed by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi at the Pakuan State Building in Bandung City on Friday (10/10/2025).
According to KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, Danantara will fully finance the project.
"This is to address the waste problem throughout Indonesia, including West Java. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment, the West Java Provincial Government, and Danantara will collaborate to turn Sarimukti into a waste-to-energy power plant," he said.
For regional division, according to KDM, it will be divided into agglomerations such as the Bogor, Depok, Bekasi and surrounding areas, then the Priangan agglomeration such as Bandung City, Bandung Regency, Cimahi City, and Purwakarta.
"So, the first priority will be the Priangan or Greater Bandung area with the Sarimukti TPA as a waste storage area for the electrical energy," he said.
According to Dedi, Danantara itself is committed to the construction process until the electricity is on for the next 2 years.
"But I want it to be faster, about one point five or one point six years, the process," KDM hoped.
