PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin confirmed that NPCI West Java athletes who win medals at the XVII/2024 Solo Peparnas will receive bonuses.

The bonus details are: gold medal winners get IDR 300 million, silver medal winners get IDR 125 million, and bronze medal winners get IDR 60 million.

This was conveyed by Bey in front of the athletes and officials of NPCI West Java at the disbandment of the West Java contingent for Peparnas XVII/2024 Solo, in the yard of the Gedung Sate Bandung, Monday (14/10/2024).

"For gold, the bonus is IDR 300 million, silver IDR 125 million, and bronze IDR 60 million," said Bey.

The nominal bonus for Peparnas athletes is exactly the same as that received by medal-winning athletes at PON XXI/2024 Aceh - North Sumatra.

Bey said, the West Java Provincial Government treats athletes equally between those with abilities and those with disabilities. These athletes have equally made West Java's name famous.

"So this bonus is the same as for PON athletes, we don't differentiate," he said.

West Java finished second in Peparnas XVII. West Java managed to collect 354 medals consisting of 120 gold, 116 silver, and 118 bronze. While the overall champion was won by the host Central Java.

Although the overall champion title of PON cannot be compared to Peparnas, West Java's medal tally at Peparnas this year has increased compared to Peparnas XVI/2021 in Papua.

"This year, there is an increase of 10 gold medals compared to the 16th Peparnas in Papua," he said.

Bey expressed his gratitude to all NPCI Jabar athletes who have fought and achieved in the national arena. The West Java contingent at Peparnas XVII/2024 is commanded by Katarina Endang Sarwestri as Chef de Mission (CdM).

"Thank you to all the athletes and the CdM of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office who accompanies the athletes every day during their matches," he said.

Bey said that the struggle of West Java athletes in Peparnas XVII/2024 showed that limitations do not prevent achievement. Their struggle will be an inspiration for the West Java Provincial Government in realizing development and community welfare.

"They are an inspiration for us, the West Java provincial government, that there should be no limitations in realizing community welfare," concluded Bey.
