This is done by accelerating the fulfillment of administrative sanctions and optimizing existing facilities and infrastructure, especially in the Greater Bandung area.
West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said that all steps have been directed to ensure that sanctions are met and environmental impacts can be minimized.
"In the future, we also encourage the waste entering Sarimukti to be reduced in its trips. In 2025, we hope to be under 200 trips per day. Hopefully Sarimukti can operate until 2027. In 2028, we have prepared the Legok Nangka TPPAS with better technology," said Herman Suryatman at the Sarimukti Final Processing Site (TPA), West Bandung Regency, Tuesday (12/24/2024).

Regarding efforts to improve waste management at the Sarimukti TPA, Herman explained that based on the latest data, the progress of fulfilling administrative sanctions given by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry showed significant developments.
Stopping the flow of leachate
To date, Sarimukti Landfill has succeeded in stopping the flow of leachate into the environmental media and improving the capacity of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL). In addition, the installation of a debit measuring device at the arrangement point has also been carried out.
Since receiving administrative sanctions from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the West Java Provincial Government has taken a number of strategic steps, including stopping pollution, namely by stopping the flow of leachate into the environmental media, and improving the capacity of the IPAL at the Sarimukti TPA to minimize the impact of pollution on the Citarum Watershed.
Acting Head of the West Java Environmental Service Nita Nilawati added that infrastructure optimization was also carried out, namely by installing a debit measuring device and monitoring methane gas and odor in the waste dump area.
In addition, the completion of the arrangement of the IPL outlet with coordinated compliance, then the arrangement of rainwater drainage channels, as well as optimization of the performance of the aerator in the stabilization pond 24 hours continuously was also carried out.
Another step is to carry out periodic reporting by carrying out reporting of the Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Monitoring Plan (RKL-RPL) to the West Bandung Regency Environmental Service.
"Monitoring and evaluation are carried out on the efforts that have been made," said Nita.
Strengthening of regulations
The West Java Provincial Government is also taking further steps to strengthen regulations and coordination by continuing to collaborate with the central government to support the optimization of IPAL, as well as fulfilling the administrative sanctions that have been received.
Collaboration is also carried out with the Regency/City Governments in the Greater Bandung area and the community to ensure the reduction of organic waste generation starting from households with the Zero Food Waste policy, the Over Dimension Over Load (ODOL) policy on garbage truck trips that deliver more than the vehicle capacity.
Finally, said Nita, implementing QR Code-based technological advances on digital-based waybills that can be monitored via the sampahkita.jabarprov.go.id application.

SMI and West Java BUMD, evaluation of IPAL performance, and regulation of discharge from stabilization ponds," said Nita.
