PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman said he would immediately curb extortion by parking attendants and goods storage officers in the Al Jabbar Mosque area.

A quick response was carried out with special discussions at the Al Jabbar Mosque Executive Board level.

"This morning the Executive Council of the Al Jabbar Mosque discussed it directly, including with officers in the field," said Herman Suryatman who is also the Daily Chair of the Executive Council of the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque, Sunday (14/4/2024).

According to Herman, the Executive Council, as the party that maintains the provincial mosque, wants this problem to be resolved immediately. If it is found that there is extortion committed by unscrupulous officers, the Executive Council will immediately take action.

"We will immediately put things in order," said Herman.

Herman said that the comfort and safety of the congregation had long been the Executive Council's main priority. The Executive Board deeply regrets the incident which made one of the congregation uncomfortable.

"On behalf of the Executive Board of the Al Jabbar Grand Mosque, we apologize," he said.

Herman confirmed that the incident was carried out by an irresponsible party, without permission and outside the management's knowledge.

However, the Executive Council ensured that there would be a thorough evaluation of the service system in the field and that similar incidents would not be repeated in the future.

Herman suggested that the congregation be more careful about people who collect money in the name of Al Jabbar Mosque services.

"Just report it to us or the authorities immediately if there is a similar incident (extortion)," concluded Herman.
