PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government issued Circular Letter Number 37/HUB.02/KESRA concerning the Order of Public Roads from Community Levies/Donations in the West Java Province. This circular letter is addressed to all Regents/Mayors, Sub-district Heads, Village Heads, and Village Heads in West Java.

This step was taken as an effort by the West Java Provincial Government to maintain traffic order and public order, especially from the rampant levies on public roads that have the potential to disrupt the safety of road users.

In the circular, regional heads at all levels are asked to form a monitoring network in their respective regions to regulate levies or donations from the public, including those carried out by illegal parking attendants.

In addition, local governments are also asked to provide guidance to the community so that they are increasingly aware of the importance of maintaining public order and the environment, and have a wise understanding and attitude in collecting and using donations for others.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said this policy will come into effect on Monday, April 14, 2025.

"So, we will issue a circular prohibiting various collection activities in the name of donations for places of worship or other donations, which are contrary to the principles of traffic safety," said Dedi Mulyadi.

He also emphasized the importance of the role of regional heads at all levels to immediately anticipate the impact of this policy.

"Therefore, to the village heads, sub-district heads, district heads and mayors, we will immediately take steps to anticipate the impact of this ban," he said.

KDM -- Dedi Mulyadi's nickname -- realized that some of the collection activities were carried out for good purposes, such as building places of worship.

Therefore, the government is ready to be present to resolve this problem together.

"For example, there is a mosque being built, a prayer room being built and the like. So we will work together to solve the problems of this construction," he said.

"Because it concerns our dignity as Muslims and the most important thing is that we are not allowed to use the road outside of the interests of traffic itself," he said.

The West Java Provincial Government appeals to all elements of society to support this policy in order to create a safe, orderly and comfortable environment for all.
