PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government continues to intensively encourage the acceleration of the reactivation of railway infrastructure in West Java with the central government.

Acting West Java Governor Bey Machmudin revealed that there are three programs that are of concern to the West Java Provincial Government, namely the reactivation of a number of train lines in West Java, the electrification of the Padalarang-Cicalengka train line and the construction of the Greater Bandung LRT.

"Yesterday I went to Jakarta to meet with the Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure at Bappenas to discuss the LRT, electrification of trains from Padalarang to Cicalengka and reactivation of train lines," said Bey Machmudin at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, Thursday (16/5/2024).

The reactivation includes the Banjar to Pangandaran and Ciwidey-Bandung railway lines.

Bey said that Bappenas responded well and also supported the project.

"The response was very good, we talked in great detail and they were very supportive of acceleration and this is in progress," said Bey.

"There is hope that reactivation and electrification can be advanced," he added.

Bey revealed that the reactivation of the Banjar-Pangandaran route already has a detailed engineering design and this route can be realized quickly.

"Essentially, we hope that this year there will be something real so that next year we just have to continue. I really hope for the electrification of Padalarang-Cicalengka," he said.
