PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The government has begun preparing relocation for residents affected by the landslides in Sukaraja Village and Wargasari Village, Kadupandak District, Cianjur Regency which occurred on Friday (22/11).
This was conveyed by the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lieutenant General TNI Dr. Suharyanto, during his visit to the affected location in Sukaraja Village, Kadupandak District, Cianjur Regency on Monday (2/12).
This relocation preparation is the result of a study from the observations of the Head of BNPB together with the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Java Province, the BPBD of Cianjur Regency and all elements related to handling the landslide disaster in Kadupandak District.
"Earlier, from the results of the review and study in the field with PVMBG and all elements of the Forkopimda, the houses damaged by the landslide disaster could no longer be inhabited, because they were badly damaged and unfit due to the very vulnerable soil conditions," explained Suharyanto.
Therefore, Suharyanto encouraged all parties involved in handling this landslide disaster to gradually carry out relocation immediately.
"So, the damaged houses must be relocated immediately, Alhamdulillah the Village Head has prepared the relocation land, so if the data collection runs quickly with a number that is not too large, we agree to accelerate it," continued Suharyanto.
During the housing waiting period, Suharyanto explained that all affected residents have two options: to be provided with temporary housing or to be given housing waiting funds.
"During the housing waiting period, there are two options, the first is to create temporary housing, the second is to be given housing waiting funds if residents choose to stay at a relative's house, with an amount of 500 thousand for six months with a total of three million rupiah per head of family," said Suharyanto.
"Because this eviction is widespread, I have asked for assistance from the Dandim and Kapolres to deploy their personnel to build temporary and permanent housing," he added.
Up to the 10th day after the landslide disaster in Cianjur Regency, based on data as of Sunday (1/12), it was reported that three villages in two sub-districts including Sukaraja Village and Wargasari Village in Kadupandak Sub-district and Waringinsari Village in Takokak Sub-district recorded 85 families or 242 residents affected.
