PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - Acting Regent of Bekasi, Asep Surya Atmaja, attended the Plenary Meeting of the Bekasi Regency DPRD in order to determine and submit the DPRD's decision regarding the recommendations on the Accountability Statement Report (LKPJ) of the Bekasi Regent for the 2025 Fiscal Year at the Graha Paripurna DPRD Building, Central Cikarang, on Monday (4/5/2026).

The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Bekasi Regency DPRD, Ade Sukron, also approved the draft cooperation agreement for processing waste from the Burangkeng Landfill into new renewable energy based on Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) technology.

Asep Surya Atmaja, expressed his appreciation to the Bekasi Regency DPRD, especially the LKPJ Special Committee (Pansus) for their hard work in discussing the report comprehensively.

"On behalf of the Bekasi Regency Government, I would like to express my gratitude to the leadership and all members of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), especially the LKPJ Special Committee, for their hard work, dedication, and critical and constructive thinking in discussing the 2025 LKPJ," said Asep.

Asep emphasized that the DPRD's recommendations are an important part of the check and balance mechanism and serve as a strategic foundation for improving the quality of regional government administration in the future.

"This recommendation is a very valuable strategic note for us in improving and enhancing the quality of regional government performance and budgeting," he said.

Asep welcomed the DPRD's decision regarding approval of the waste processing cooperation plan at the Burangkeng TPA, in supporting the transformation of waste management through RDF technology into renewable energy.

"This is a strategic step in addressing the challenges of waste management while also supporting the transition to more environmentally friendly energy in Bekasi Regency," he explained.

The Acting Regent also revealed that the cooperation plan will be targeted for a five-year period as an effort to address the problem of waste accumulation at the Burangkeng TPA.

"We are targeting more optimal waste management in Burangkeng within the next five years, so that significant accumulations no longer occur," he added.

Throughout 2025, Asep continued, the Bekasi Regency Government has made maximum efforts to implement various development programs with a number of positive achievements, although there are still shortcomings that need to be addressed.

"We will seriously follow up on the DPRD's recommendations, including the strategic policy on converting waste into energy, as part of our commitment to improving government performance and public service," he stressed.
