PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government has confirmed its readiness to actively participate in the implementation of the national Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program.

Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang said that the MBG program is a strategic policy of the central government that requires cross-sector coordination so that its implementation is effective and on target.

This was conveyed by Regent Ade Kunang after attending the West Java Regional Consolidation Meeting in the context of Improving MBG Program Governance, which was held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor Regency, on Monday (13/10/2025).

"The directive from the Head of the National Nutrition Agency earlier asked the Heads of the MBG Task Force in each region to directly involve local governments in implementing this program," said Ade Kunang.

Regent Ade emphasized that the Bekasi Regency Government is ready to play an active role in various technical aspects of the MBG implementation, starting from determining the zoning of beneficiary recipients and monitoring their safety and nutritional health.

He also ensured that the entire MBG program implementation process refers to the standards set by the central government.

"The Bekasi Regency Government will ensure its implementation meets standards, as the beneficiaries of this program are also the people of Bekasi Regency," he added.

He believes the success of this program will depend heavily on strong coordination between the central and regional governments, as well as implementing agencies on the ground. With the active involvement of local governments, it is hoped that potential problems such as uneven distribution, poor nutritional quality, and issues of food hygiene and safety can be minimized.

"With good synergy, we can ensure the Free Nutritious Meals program runs optimally and brings real benefits to the community," he hoped. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
