PORTALJABAR, BEKASI REGENCY - The Bekasi Regency Government has prepared two strategic schemes to address the waste problem at the Burangkeng Landfill, as an effort to expedite handling and create a sustainable management system.

Bekasi Regency Regional Secretary, Endin Samsudin, said the first scheme was implemented through collaboration with third parties to manage existing waste, both old and currently piled up.

"This collaboration is currently underway. Hopefully, the agreement can be finalized this week," he said while delivering his remarks at the morning assembly of civil servants at the Cikarang Pusat Regency Plaza on Monday (April 6, 2026).

He added that the DPRD is also scheduled to invite agreed upon cooperation partners to accelerate the realization of this management.

Meanwhile, the second scheme is implemented through the waste processing into electrical energy (PSEL) program, which is a central government program with a fairly large investment value.

In this scheme, management will involve Danantara, who will handle new waste entering the landfill.

"Based on the results of a limited meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Food, Bekasi Regency was determined to carry out the PSEL auction process this month," he explained.

With these two schemes, the Bekasi Regency Government is optimistic that the waste problem at the Burangkeng TPA can be resolved gradually and sustainably.

Endin also appreciated the performance of the Environmental Agency and related regional agencies that have encouraged the acceleration of the program.

"With this synergy, hopefully we can address the waste management in Burangkeng," he concluded. (Bekasi Regency Communications and Information Office/rka)
