PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Acting Head of the Bogor Regency Environmental Service, Bambam Setia Aji, deployed dozens of garbage trucks and heavy equipment to clean up piles of wild garbage in Kopo Village, Cisarua District, to restore the cleanliness of the residents' environment (9/3/2026).

The Environmental Service team together with the Public Works Service began collecting garbage this morning using transport vehicles and heavy equipment.

Officials estimate that around 50 transport vehicles are needed because the volume of waste at the location is quite large.

DLH prepared 25 garbage collection vehicles on the first day to speed up the cleaning process.

DLH added around 25 more vehicles the following day so that the waste collection could be completed more quickly.

Bambam explained that the cleanup would likely take two days due to the large amount of rubbish piled up at the location.

The village and sub-district governments agreed that the six neighborhood associations around the location would no longer dump garbage in the area.

Residents also increased supervision to ensure there was no more illegal dumping of garbage from outside Kopo Village.

Cisarua Sub-district Head Heri Risnandar explained that the location was initially an illegal dumping point before residents tried to manage a temporary shelter.

Local residents even collect contributions to help with waste collection operations to keep the environment clean.

The sub-district government is encouraging waste management from its source through the Environmental Home Area program, which has been running since 2018.

Each neighborhood unit is also encouraged to have a unit waste bank to reduce the volume of household waste.

The sub-district government and the village are preparing a long-term solution through the construction of a Reduce Reuse Recycle Waste Processing Facility.

Kopo Village Head Wiwin Wildan said that cleaning staff from three neighborhood associations routinely collect residents' waste to be transported by the Environmental Agency.

He explained that people have also started to sort waste such as plastic and other waste to make management easier.

Joint efforts by the government and residents are expected to reduce the pile of garbage while maintaining the cleanliness of the Cisarua environment.
