PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said that Rancabungur District was chosen by the central government as the location for the development of a national sports area covering approximately 500 hectares which is projected to encourage new economic growth for the community (2026).

The central government is preparing the land for the construction of the National Sports Academy as well as a training center for national teams in various sports.

The area is designed as an integrated athlete development ecosystem that combines education, sports training, athlete housing, and supporting facilities in one area.

This facility will prioritize the development of 21 leading sports with an integrated learning and training concept for young athletes.

The central government is currently in the process of selecting an architect to design the national sports area.

The development of this sports area is also projected to have an economic impact on the community in the area around Rancabungur District.

The tourism, hospitality, trade, and micro, small, and medium enterprise sectors are expected to grow along with the increase in national and international sporting activities.

"The development of this national sports area will certainly have a significant impact on Bogor Regency, particularly in boosting regional economic growth. We hope this area will not only become a center for national sports activities but will also stimulate the economy of the surrounding community," said Rudy.

Rudy believes that the development of the sports area has the potential to open up new job opportunities for the people of Bogor Regency.

Economic activity in the services, trade, and tourism sectors is predicted to increase along with the development of the national sports area.

"The presence of the sports center in Rancabungur is expected to not only be a center for developing national athletes, but also be able to attract various national and international sporting events," said Rudy.

The Bogor Regency Government will continue to encourage the development of strategic areas that can create new centers of economic growth in various regions.

The development of the national sports area in Rancabungur is expected to have a broad impact on increasing investment, employment absorption, and regional economic growth.
