PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - Following up on the instructions of Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto, the Bogor Regency Government conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) and took action against companies suspected of polluting the environment around Setu Rawa Jejed, Kembang Kuning Village, Klapanunggal District, on Monday (21/4/2025).
The inspection team consisted of the Bogor Regency Environmental Service (DLH) together with the Cileungsi Sub-River Basin (DAS) Pollution Control Task Force Team and the Klapanunggal Sub-District Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimcam).
Head of the Law Enforcement and B3 Waste Management Division (PHLPLB3) of the Bogor Regency Environmental Agency, Gantara Lenggana, said that this activity was a follow-up to public reports, social media information, coordination between local villages and sub-districts, and the Cileungsi Sub-DAS River Patrol.
From the inspection in the PT Dinito Jaya Sakti area, a number of violations were found, including non-compliance with environmental documents and storage of B3 waste that is not in accordance with the rules. In addition, it is known that waste processing that produces residue in the form of powder (particles) from the plastic crusher process is not managed. This has the potential to pollute the environment and endanger respiratory health.
Gantara explained that DLH and the team also installed Environmental Supervisory Officer Lines (PPLH Line) at two locations and warning signs in the front area of the company. The team also permanently closed the unlicensed drainage channel at one point and took waste samples for laboratory testing. The results of the laboratory tests will be out within the next 14 days.
Gantara emphasized that DLH will continue to conduct further supervision of other companies around Setu Rawa Jejed. The government will also impose sanctions and administrative fines based on the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 14 of 2024.
If necessary and proven to have committed a violation, criminal sanctions will be given to the company. Sanctions are based on the findings and provisions in Law Number 32 of 2009 and Law Number 6 of 2023.
"We do not immediately apply criminal sanctions, but provide administrative sanctions first. However, if they are ignored, we can continue the criminal legal process," he added.
On this occasion, he also invited all elements of society, business actors, and government agencies to work together to preserve the environment.
"We protect nature, nature protects us. This is our shared responsibility," Gantara concluded.
Meanwhile, Senior Advisor of PT Dinito Jaya Sakti Estu Widodo said that his party is ready to cooperate and will immediately follow up on all DLH findings.
"We have immediately followed up on several directives in the field, such as closing open water channels and will continue to carry out comprehensive repairs within 14 days according to the laboratory results," he said.
