PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) remains committed to developing the Parung Panjang area.

This arrangement has begun to be implemented gradually, since Wednesday (15/4/2026).

The relevant agencies together with elements of the Parung District and the TNI-Polri carried out the regulation of street vendors (PKL) who had been occupying the roads in the Parung Market area.

This step was taken to restore the road's function as a public facility and at the same time reduce the traffic jams that are often complained about by the public.

The cleanup was carried out using a humane approach. Vendors were given directions and advised to move to a government-provided location within the Tohaga Parung Market area. Furthermore, this effort aimed to create a more orderly, clean, and comfortable market environment for all users.

The Head of the Public Works Department, Suryanto Putra, explained that the arrangement does not only focus on controlling street vendors, but also includes the arrangement of the area as a whole.

The roadside area will be used to beautify the environment, including regulating billboards that do not comply with regulations.

This step is expected to reduce clutter and improve the aesthetics of the area.

"The previously closed Parung Market is now starting to make its mark. It turns out there's still ample space for redevelopment, including for landscaping. We'll also be removing billboards to make the area neater and less disruptive," he said.

Gradually, construction begins with building data collection from the licensing side to ownership.

In the future, the government also plans to widen the road from the T-junction to the Pohon Jeruk area to support smooth traffic flow.

Haris Setiawan, Director of the Tohaga Market Public Company, emphasized that his company has prepared hundreds of stalls and kiosks within the market to accommodate street vendors. Furthermore, if capacity is insufficient, additional facilities will be provided, given the ample space available.

"This restructuring isn't about eviction, but rather about shifting. We want vendors to be able to continue their operations in a more suitable and organized space. For the time being, the space provided is still free; vendors only pay cleaning and security fees," Haris explained.

Meanwhile, Parung Sub-district Head Adhi Nugraha stated that the reorganization process has involved communication with vendors since the beginning of the year. Of the hundreds of street vendors registered, some had already demolished their stalls independently before the reorganization began.

"We hope people will no longer conduct transactions on the roadside. If this doesn't change, the chaotic conditions will return," he said.

The Bogor Regency Government emphasized that the successful redevelopment of the Parung Market area requires collaboration from all parties, including the government, merchants, and the community. With this synergy, it is hoped that the Parung Market area will be restored to its original state, the road will function properly, and a comfortable and safe environment will be created for all residents.
