PORTALJABAR, BOGOR REGENCY - The Bogor Regency Government (Pemkab) through the Environmental Service (DLH) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) to several industries in the Citeureup area, Bogor Regency, Monday (19/5/2025).

This inspection was carried out based on public reports regarding alleged environmental pollution due to the dumping of hazardous and toxic waste (B3).

Head of the Environmental Law Enforcement and B3 Waste Management Division (PHLPLB3) of the Bogor Regency Environmental Agency, Gantara Lenggana, said that this inspection was a direct instruction from the leadership to respond to various complaints from the public, including from community leaders in Tarikolot Village, Citeureup District.

The inspection was carried out together with a team from the Environmental Supervisory Officer (PPLH), the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Citeureup Police, Tarikolot Village Government officials, as well as laboratory representatives and community leaders.

"We conducted a search from upstream to downstream of the flow that was suspected of being polluted. One of the locations we checked was PT Harapan Mulya, a company engaged in the procurement of trash bins with painting activities using orange, black, green, and blue powder coating," he said.

From the inspection results, it was found that there was an outfall that did not comply with the provisions of the law. The team immediately took action in the form of sealing the location, closing (grouting) the waste channel, and installing the PPLH line.

Sampling of receiving water bodies at upstream and downstream points is also carried out for laboratory analysis, the results of which will be received within the next 14 days.

In addition to PT Harapan Mulya, the team also examined CV Karya Erat. However, the closure action was only carried out at PT Harapan Mulya because strong indications of violations were found.

He emphasized that on Monday, the company will be summoned to conduct a Monitoring Report (BAP). If proven to have violated, administrative sanctions in the form of government coercion and fines will be given.

"If the business actor does not show good faith, it will be followed up with criminal sanctions in accordance with the Environmental Law, using the principle of ultimum remedium," he said.

DLH urges all business actors to always comply with applicable regulations, manage B3 waste in accordance with existing environmental documents, and cooperate with officially licensed third parties for the collection, utilization, and processing of waste.

"We do not prohibit the company's operations, but we emphasize that the disposal of waste into environmental media that is not in accordance with the rules is a serious violation. This is not only the task of the DLH or the authorities, but our shared responsibility," he said. (Bogor Regency Communication and Information Service/UPI)
