PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government appreciates the appointment of the management of the Paguron Pencak Silat Pusaka Riksa Diri (PRD) for the 2026-2030 period at the Pendopo, Sunday (20/9/2026).

Regional Assistant III for General Administration of the Garut Regency Regional Secretariat, Margiyanto, hopes that the development of arts, culture and pencak silat sports will become stronger.

According to him, support from various paguron is important to maintain the sustainability of pencak silat as a cultural art and sport.

On behalf of the Garut Regency Government, Margiyanto also congratulated the PRD on its 24th Milangkala and hoped that this momentum would bring new enthusiasm.

Margiyanto emphasized the importance of preserving the cultural heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO so that it continues to develop and bring honor to Garut's name.

"Because we also know that Garut Regency has produced prominent figures in the world of pencak silat, not only at the national level but also internationally. And it is certainly our collective responsibility to further develop the sport of pencak silat," he said.

The elected chairman of the PRD Garut Regency Branch, Iwan Ridwan, said that his party would uphold the mandate of the founder and professor Abah Toto Baehaki.

The message includes the obligation to protect oneself, self-respect, togetherness, and solidarity between members.

Iwan invited all administrators for the 2026-2030 period to implement three main pillars: preserving tradition, sporting achievements, and synergy.

The pillar of preserving tradition is aimed at ensuring that the philosophical authenticity of the PRD remains intact amidst the developments of the times.

"Secondly, sports achievements. We must strengthen and develop our Paguron (Sports Association) development to produce athletes who can compete and excel," he said.

The third pillar, namely synergy, is realized by working hand in hand with policy makers in developing the younger generation.

These efforts are aimed at forming a young generation that is tough, disciplined, and has good morals.
