PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government recorded 255,506 tourist visits during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday, a 59.7 percent increase compared to the same season the previous year (April 6, 2026).

The Garut Regency Tourism and Culture Office reported that the number of visits in 2025 was recorded at 159,997 tourists.

The surge in visits shows that tourist interest in tourist destinations in Garut Regency continues to increase.

Santolo Beach was the busiest destination with a total of 23,368 visitors during the Eid holiday season.

Sayang Heulang Beach is in second place with the number of visits reaching 21,560 tourists.

Mount Papandayan Nature Tourism Park is in next place with 22,447 visitors.

Another destination that is also popular with tourists is Sabda Alam Water Park with 18,963 visitors.

Tepas Papandayan recorded 18,810 tourist visits throughout the holiday season.

The increase in tourist visits also contributed to an increase in local revenue from the tourism sector.

The local government is preparing steps to digitize tourist tickets and improve the cleanliness and security of destinations.
