PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin appreciated the Garut District Attorney's Office (Kejari) for its success in recovering state financial losses of more than IDR 1.5 billion in a corruption case involving PT BPR Intan Jabar.
This appreciation was conveyed at an award ceremony from PT Bank Intan Jabar (BIJ) to the Garut District Attorney's Office in the Garut District Attorney's Office Meeting Room, Jalan Merdeka, Tarogong Kaler District, Garut Regency, Monday (26/10/2026).
The award is a form of appreciation from the Garut Regency Government and the management of PT BPR Intan Jabar for the dedication and cooperation of the Garut District Attorney's Office in recovering state financial losses due to the corruption case involving the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD).
Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Head of the Garut District Attorney's Office (Kajari) and all staff who had accompanied and supervised the legal process until the asset rescue.
"So, some time ago, one of our regionally-owned enterprises, Bank Intan Jabar, suffered losses due to a corruption case committed by several parties. The verdict was issued yesterday. The problem now is how to reimburse the state for those losses," he said.
Syakur revealed that the collaboration with the Garut District Attorney's Office had yielded significant results in efforts to recover state financial losses.
"Thank God, we're working together and need the assistance of the District Attorney and her staff to help us return the funds to the government. Thank God, more than 1.5 billion has been disbursed so far," he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Garut District Attorney's Office, Ayu Agung, emphasized the Garut District Attorney's Office's commitment to not only upholding the law through criminal prosecution, but also prioritizing the recovery of state financial losses (asset recovery) for the benefit of the community.
"We are committed to not only punishing people, but also reclaiming all state assets, especially those in Garut Regency, for the welfare of the community," Ayu Agung emphasized.
On the same occasion, Budi, President Director of PT BPR Intan Jabar, expressed optimism regarding the company's recovery and future. Amid ongoing legal proceedings and asset recovery, his company is focused on maintaining business stability.
"So, for BIJ itself, BIJ will become healthier in the future, but the legal process will not be abandoned, so that BIJ remains healthy and the state's losses will be minimized. That's the hope," explained Budi.
Through collaboration between the Garut Regency Government, the Garut District Attorney's Office, and the management of PT BPR Intan Jabar, it is hoped that BUMD governance will become more accountable and transparent and able to make a positive contribution to the regional economy.
