PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government is promoting the strengthening of Islamic financial inclusion to expand public access to financial services. (June 18, 2026)

This commitment was conveyed by the Regional Secretary of Garut Regency, Nurdin Yana, at the School of Syariah and EPIKS Program activities.

Nurdin Yana said Garut Regency has great potential to develop the Islamic economy and finance in West Java.

This potential is supported by the agricultural sector, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Islamic boarding schools, and religious communities.

He also encouraged the development of Laku Pandai agents down to the village level to expand formal financial services.

"This program is a strategic step in strengthening Islamic financial literacy and inclusion," he said.

According to him, strengthening Islamic financial literacy can help people develop businesses sustainably.

Head of the Financial Literacy and Inclusion Department of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) M. Ismail Riyadi explained the importance of financial literacy.

He said the Sharia Financial Inclusion Center Ecosystem Program (EPIKS) was developed through collaboration between the OJK and KNEKS.

"Today is certainly a happy day for us at the OJK, along with KNEKS," he said.

The General Secretary of PP Persis, Haris Muslim, said that the Islamic Unity network has great potential to support the development of the Muslim economy.

He said the Islamic Union has more than 500 educational institutions and millions of members in various regions.

The chairman of PD Persis Garut Regency, Gun Gun Abdul Basit, assessed that strengthening the economy is an important part of the organization's preaching.

This activity is expected to expand Islamic financial literacy while strengthening the economy of the Garut Regency community.
