PORTALJABAR, GARUT REGENCY - The Garut Regency Government closed the 2026 Village Service Program in Giriawas Village, Cikajang District (26/1/2026) as an effort to encourage development solutions based on the needs of village residents.

Cikajang Sub-district Secretary Ratu Ayu Wira Pertiwi appreciated the Intan City Garut Student Association for making Giriawas a location for community service with programs that directly touch the community.

Ratu Ayu stated that several student activities provided tangible benefits to residents and could be continued by the village government and its staff to ensure their impact is sustainable.

Giriawas Village Head Deni Sunjani said the village's openness to student service is in line with the concept of building villages through relationships between residents and youth.

Deni explained that the silaturahmi approach helps strengthen social trust so that village programs run more effectively and bring blessings to the community.

The General Chairperson of the Intan City Garut Student Association, Suni Subagja, said that students have a social responsibility to address the problems of village communities.

Suni emphasized that villages are the foundation of national development because real change arises from the needs of residents at the lowest level.

He hopes that the Village Service Program will foster empathy in students and provide a sustainable impact on the social life and development of Giriawas Village.
