PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will prepare service standards for child care facilities or daycare. So far, daycare services are spread across various regions, but do not yet have uniform service standards.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said that currently there are daycares in five Regional Apparatus (PD), namely DP3A, DPPKB, Disnaker, Disdagin, and Disdik.

"Daycare is actually now available in many OPDs. First, there is DP3A, DPPKB, Disnaker, Disdagin, and Disdik. There are five," he said, Monday (4/21/2025).

However, all of these daycare facilities still operate independently and do not yet have standardized service standards.

"We cannot create daycare, but we will ensure that the standardization of daycare at all points has the same service standards," he said.

To oversee this, the Bandung City Government will form a cross-PD monitoring team.

"We are planning to form a team to supervise the work of each daycare. Later, the supervisory team will be led by DP3A," he said.

Apart from government facilities, Farhan said there are also many independent daycares managed by local residents.

"Many are independent. Many are based in RW areas and on average, I see that they are good," he said.

However, Farhan reminded of the importance of supervision to avoid risks.

"The most important thing we need to avoid is to not let unwanted cases happen," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/UPI)
