PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is committed to improving the governance and service quality of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. This is done by collaborating with nutritionists, partners, and the Food and Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG).
This was conveyed by Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin after attending the West Java Regional Consolidation Meeting in order to improve MBG governance held by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in Sentul, Bogor, Monday (13/10/2025).
"We must all ensure there are no more cases of food poisoning among students. Food distribution must be well-managed, and its quality must be maintained," he said.
Erwin said that the formation of the MBG Task Force (Satgas) in each city and district was a concrete step to strengthen supervision in the field.
"All regions must form an MBG Task Force, and we will work towards this. We must ensure there are no more food poisoning cases. Improve food quality and ensure the distribution of balanced nutritional menus is effective. I'm confident that everyone must work together," he said.
As a follow-up to this activity, the Bandung City Government plans to encourage the implementation of the Hygiene Sanitation Certificate (SLHS) for food providers in the MBG program.
This step is expected to ensure the safety and quality of food consumed by school children.
The regional consolidation activity became a forum for stakeholders, including Heads of SPPG, nutritionists, partners, and local governments, to build a shared understanding in improving the quality of MBG program governance.
The meeting in Sentul was the third in a series of regional consolidation meetings, following those held in Semarang (Central Java and Yogyakarta) and Surabaya (East Java). (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/UPI)
