PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) showed its concern for disaster victims by handing over compensation to the family of the late Diding, a victim who died due to a fallen tree incident in the Bojong area.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan personally delivered the compensation to the victims' families at the Bandung City Hall on Sunday (April 5, 2026). The assistance is the result of a collaboration between the Bandung City Housing and Settlement Agency (DPKP) and PT Asuransi Bumida through the Public Liability Insurance program.
"Alhamdulillah, today Bumida has provided a death benefit of Rp 50 million to Mrs. Lisna's family. We hope this will help the family financially, although we recognize that nothing can replace the presence of the deceased," said Farhan.
It is known that the late Diding is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lisna, and four children. One child is already an adult, while the other three are still in school, making financial support crucial to the family's survival.
Farhan stated that this incident serves as a reminder for the government to continue improving risk mitigation efforts, particularly regarding public safety from potential disasters in public spaces.
"We share your deep sorrow. This is a difficult ordeal for Ms. Lisna and her family. God willing, we will continue our efforts to ensure a similar incident does not happen again," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Bumida Bandung Branch, Yuri, also expressed his condolences for the incident and appreciated the Bandung City Government's trust in his party in providing insurance protection.
"We express our deepest condolences to the victim's family and express our gratitude for the Bandung City Government's trust in Bumida for its tree Public Liability Insurance coverage for 2025 and 2026," said Yuri. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
