PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan launched the Sasapu Bandung program which encourages residents to clean the environment every Sunday starting at 04.00 WIB to maintain the cleanliness and comfort of Bandung City (22/4/2026).
This program involves sub-district heads, village heads, and regional officials who will work with the community in their respective areas.
Muhammad Farhan explained that the activity aimed to build the habit of residents to maintain environmental cleanliness regularly.
"This is part of our collective awareness-raising movement. Not only the government, but the public must also be actively involved in keeping the city clean," said Farhan.
The Bandung City Government regulates the involvement of regional apparatus in rotation so that the implementation of activities runs consistently in various regions.
Muhammad Farhan believes that city cleanliness requires the involvement of all parties because the impact is directly felt by the community.
"Everyone will get their turn. This is a shared responsibility, not just one party's," said Farhan.
This program also supports efforts to create a clean, healthy, and orderly city environment.
Muhammad Farhan said that changing people's behavior is the key to successfully managing city cleanliness.
"We want to build awareness from within that maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility. A clean city will impact people's health, comfort, and quality of life," said Farhan.
The Sasapu Bandung Movement is expected to strengthen citizen participation in maintaining public spaces so that the Bandung City environment becomes cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable for the public to use.
