PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government will immediately repair the drainage in RW 05, Turangga Village, Lengkong District to overcome flooding caused by malfunctioning channels.
Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin said that the dredging of the channel will be carried out starting September 22, 2025 using heavy equipment so that the waterlogging can be reduced immediately.
"We have prepared several flood management strategies, both short-term and long-term. The target is to build 30 retention ponds, 15 of which have been completed, and God willing, another 15 will be built in 2026 with a budget of around Rp12 billion," he explained.
The inspection was conducted on Jl. Kayu Agung I, Jl. Journalist II No. 28, Jl. Journalist II No. 23, and the area behind the Turangga PWI Sports Hall, following up on residents' reports regarding public facility land and drainage.
Erwin emphasized that the Bandung City Government is open to public reports via WhatsApp, Instagram, City Hall, or official residences.
"As leaders, we must respond quickly to every community problem. In principle, there's no problem that can't be solved as long as everyone cooperates," he said.
In addition to drainage, the Bandung City Government also plans to optimize public and social facilities in RW 05 Turangga, including disability-friendly and elderly-friendly parks, with a possible budget allocation in 2026. (Bandung City Communications and Information Service/Fau)
