PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government is tightening supervision of costume play community activities in the Jalan Asia Afrika area after receiving public complaints regarding alleged immoral acts by certain members of the community, while ensuring that tourists still feel safe and comfortable visiting (10/3/2026).

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan directed the evaluation of cosplay activities so that the historical tourism area maintains Bandung City's image as a family tourist destination.

Head of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office, Adi Junjunan Mustafa, led a coordination meeting with the Bandung City Transportation Office, the Bandung City Civil Service Police Unit, and three cosplay communities operating in the Asia Africa region.

Adi Junjunan Mustafa believes that visitor reports submitted to the Mayor of Bandung must be taken seriously to ensure that street entertainment activities remain orderly and provide a pleasant tourist experience.

"Cosplay activities in the Asia-Africa region must maintain the reputation and security that Bandung City has always maintained," said Adi Junjunan Mustafa.

The Bandung City Government gave three cosplay communities the opportunity to improve their activity management through the reading of a joint pledge signed by community representatives.

The cosplay community is committed to entertaining visitors without coercion, being polite to residents and tourists, and not engaging in acts of deception, trapping, or extorting visitors.

The Bandung City Government also reminded community members to maintain order and cleanliness in the tourist area by not leaving excessive bags or equipment in the activity area.

Adi Junjunan Mustafa emphasized that the commitments that have been sworn must be implemented in real terms by the entire cosplay community so that tourism activities in the Asia-Africa region remain orderly and provide benefits for creative economy actors and visitors.

"This is a mandate from the Mayor of Bandung that must be implemented together. The commitment we have made is a shared responsibility for the three cosplay communities," said Adi Junjunan Mustafa.
