PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan distributed basic food aid to residents and tightened supervision of staple food warehouses to keep prices stable during Ramadan (9/3/2026).

The distribution of aid was carried out through collaboration between the Bandung City Government and the Parahyangan Social Fund Foundation.

Farhan said that around a thousand basic food packages were distributed in stages to residents at the activity location.

The distribution of aid took place for 12 days in several areas of Bandung City.

The social assistance program targets people in need during Ramadan.

A total of approximately 12,000 food packages were distributed from February 25 to March 13, 2026.

Farhan explained that this step helps people meet their basic needs while maintaining their purchasing power.

The city government also ensures that the distribution of basic necessities runs smoothly so that supplies remain available in the market.

Supervision of basic food warehouses has been tightened to prevent hoarding that could trigger price spikes.

The Bandung City Government is working with the police and the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to monitor staple food storage areas.

Farhan said the government already has a list of official warehouses along with data on staple food stocks.

If storage is found to exceed reasonable limits, the government will take firm action.

This step was taken to ensure that the prices of basic necessities remain affordable for the public during Ramadan.
