PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will tighten supervision of the implementation of the work from home (WFH) policy for state civil servants (ASN), following the discovery of violations in the previous evaluation.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan revealed that his office found three civil servants who were not carrying out their WFH duties properly, and were even known to be outside the city.
"Last week, three civil servants who were supposed to be working from home traveled out of town instead. They are currently being given written warnings," he said at Bandung City Hall on Friday (April 17, 2026).
However, he emphasized that in future the sanctions given will not stop at administrative warnings.
"If violations are repeated, the sanctions can be more serious. Not just a warning, but also more severe sanctions," he stressed.
To ensure discipline, the Bandung City Government will conduct real-time monitoring through a digital system.
In addition, direct checks will also be carried out by the Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM).
He added that the WFH policy does not mean reducing productivity, but rather is part of a work efficiency and flexibility strategy.
"WFH must remain measurable. We monitor it through digital tools to ensure civil servants continue to work according to their duties," he said. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
