PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government continues to strengthen its commitment to encouraging Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to move up a class.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan explained various strategic steps that are being and will be taken to accelerate the growth of MSMEs in Bandung City.

"MSMEs need to be supported with convenience, especially in licensing and administration. Because we know, many MSMEs need complete licensing in order to be bankable and access capital," said Farhan when opening the Intangible Culinary Festival and the Bandung City Industrial Center Festival at Cihampelas Walk (26/4/2025).

Farhan said that the Bandung City Government is currently trying to provide a number of facilities for MSMEs, starting from simplifying licensing, simplifying administration, to providing fiscal incentives.

"There are three main things: fiscal incentives, ease of licensing, and subsidies for low-income people to increase purchasing power," he explained.

He added that increasing purchasing power would encourage consumption, which in turn would drive the growth of MSMEs.

In addition, the Bandung City Government will also provide incentives in the form of subsidies for repairing uninhabitable houses (rutilahu) in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and the private sector.

Farhan said that the Bandung City Government is opening up investment and business opportunities as widely as possible for medium to large business groups to create new jobs.

"We provide various incentives in the tourism sector, property, and festival events. The goal is clear, Bandung's economy must continue to move," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/Fau)
