PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) received an award as a Regional Government that Supports the Implementation of Good Medicine Manufacturing Methods (CPOB) in the Blood Transfusion Unit from the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

The award was received directly by the Bandung City Regional Secretary (Sekda) Ema Sumarna at the peak of the 23rd anniversary of BPOM RI in Senayan Jakarta, Sunday (4/2/2024).

Apart from Bandung City, there are 3 other district cities that received similar awards.

Plt. Head of BPOM RI Lucia Rizka Andalusia said that BPOM cannot work alone in carrying out its duties in the field of drug and food supervision.

"Collaboration with stakeholders is very important so that improving the level of public health and the nation's competitiveness can be achieved optimally. "The pillars of effective drug and food control at least require the role of government, business actors and the community," he said.

"This also includes supervision of blood service and processing facilities in the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD)," he said.

Regarding this award, BPOM has carried out an assessment of the fulfillment of the roles and responsibilities of local governments in supporting the implementation of CPOB in the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD).

The assessment is carried out through self-assessment tools provided to Regency/City Regional Governments with aspects including roles and responsibilities in organizing, developing, supervising and providing funding/grants for the procurement of blood processing facilities and equipment at UTD so that blood is safe, easy to access and appropriate. with community needs.

For this award, Ema admitted that she was grateful. This award is also a spur so that the Bandung City Government can serve the public better. (Diskominfo Bandung City/UPI)
