PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) expressed its deepest condolences for the passing of Mrs. Tiobonur Silalahi, mother of the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, Monday (21/4/2025) at 15.15 WIB at Kawaluyan Hospital, Kota Baru Parahyangan, Padalarang, West Java.
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan personally and on behalf of the Bandung City Government expressed his condolences and deep sympathy to the extended family of General Maruli for the passing of their much-loved mother.
"We feel a great loss over the passing of Mrs. Tiobonur Silalahi. She was a mother figure who had educated and raised the nation's best sons, who currently carries out an important task as the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army. We convey our best prayers that the deceased will receive a noble place in the sight of God Almighty," said Farhan in his statement at Bandung City Hall.
Farhan also invited all the people of Bandung City to pray for the deceased and pay their respects to the grieving family.
According to him, the passing of Mrs. Tiobonur is not only a sorrow for the family, but also for the wider community who respect the role of the TNI family in maintaining the integrity and security of the country.
"Hopefully the bereaved family, especially General Maruli Simanjuntak and the entire extended family, will be given fortitude and strength. Losing a mother is a very deep sorrow, but hopefully our prayers and support can be a strength in these difficult times," added Farhan.
The body is currently being laid out at the funeral home. The Bandung City Government continues to monitor developments and is ready to provide support according to the family's needs. Further information regarding the funeral procession will be officially conveyed by the family.
