PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will gradually beautify a number of public spaces. This is an effort to provide a more representative public space.

In the near future, the Bandung City Government will repair the Supratman Ciujung Field and is targeting completion in September 2024.

"We will repair it, maybe it can be finished in September or October this year. I want it to be faster," said Bandung City Regional Secretary (Sekda) Ema Sumarna, Friday (19/1/2024).

Ema admitted that the public space directly facing the center of the military institution could be used more optimally by the community.

"We encourage this to become a public space that is comfortable for the community. Sport is not only for futsal, you can use other facilities there," he said.

He also ensured that facilities for jogging or walking were wider, so that people were more comfortable.

"The space for running or walking is wider, so there is no potential for distractions," he said.

Apart from that, Ema also reminded us about lighting. Because according to him, maximum lighting can attract people and from a security perspective it is better maintained.

"We will optimize the lighting, so that it can be used at night, for sports, travelling, relaxing at night, it is safe. We want to optimize the toilet and prayer room facilities. There are no sales places here. This is everyone's commitment," he said.

Apart from that, the Bandung City Government will also improve the sidewalks and drainage around Supratman Field.

"To make walking comfortable, the sidewalks and drainage have been repaired and also closed. There is a control tank, so that if something happens, the relevant agencies can effectively carry out repairs," he said. (Diskominfo Bandung City/UPI)
