PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government distributed humanitarian aid of Rp2,032,736,809 to help earthquake victims in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Aid was collected from the people of Bandung City through the National Zakat Collection Agency (Baznas) of Bandung City and handed over to Baznas of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, handed over the aid to the Chairman of Baznas RI, Sodik Mudjahid, at Bandung City Hall (31/8/2026).

"This is a mandate to be handed over in the form of aid for earthquake victims in NTT from Bandung City residents through the Bandung City Baznas, which will be given directly to the Republic of Indonesia Baznas," said Farhan.

The humanitarian funds were collected from regional apparatus, companies, communities, and school environments in the city of Bandung.

The largest contribution came from Bank BJB's corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds amounting to IDR 1 billion.

The Head of the Bandung City Baznas, Momon Ahmad Imron Sutisna, said the total donation reached Rp2,032,736,809 as of 8:00 p.m. WIB the day before the handover.

"Alhamdulillah, as of yesterday at 8:00 PM WIB, Rp2,032,736,809 had been collected for this humanitarian fund," said Momon.

Farhan hopes that this assistance will encourage more people to distribute zakat, infak, and alms to help communities affected by disasters.

"The amount is indeed small compared to the disaster, but hopefully this will trigger a wave of zakat, infaq, and alms from Bandung residents to help our brothers and sisters in NTT through Baznas," he said.

Chairman of Baznas RI Sodik Mudjahid appreciated the distribution through Baznas because aid can be managed in a coordinated manner according to the needs of the affected community.

"Thank you, Mr. Mayor, you're extraordinary. First, you've raised our concern for our brothers and sisters in NTT. And second, you've truly played the role of Baznas," said Sodik.

Baznas RI has distributed emergency response assistance in the form of tents, food, basic necessities, health services, clean water, and support for women and children.

In the post-disaster phase, Baznas RI provides infrastructure assistance, school supplies, scholarships, health services, and business support for affected communities.

"Post-disaster efforts include infrastructure, school assistance, and scholarships, and thirdly, health," he said.

Farhan hopes that this assistance will provide real benefits for earthquake victims while maintaining the spirit of solidarity among Bandung City residents.

"Hopefully what we are doing now will bring blessings and benefits," said Farhan.
