PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - Muhammad Farhan emphasized the Bandung City Government's commitment to regulating Public Cemeteries (TPU), especially during the increased pilgrimage activity during the Eid holiday.

Farhan acknowledged that the practice of extortion in a number of public cemeteries (TPU) remains a challenge that is not easy to eradicate instantly.

However, the Bandung City Government continues to take various steps to regulate and supervise in the field.

"We are indeed currently conducting regulatory oversight at the TPU. However, we must admit that it is very difficult for us to immediately eliminate extortion. Therefore, we are continuing our efforts to limit and suppress this practice," said Farhan at Bandung City Hall on Friday (March 27, 2026).

He has given directions to all regional officials to be more active in maintaining the comfort of the community, especially for pilgrims who come to pray at family graves.

Special attention is also given to the Nagrog area, which is one of the densest points of pilgrimage activity.

Farhan expressed his appreciation to local community leaders who had contributed by providing part of their residential land as a temporary parking area.

"For Nagrog, I would like to thank the community leaders who have helped provide parking. This greatly contributes to the smooth flow and comfort of pilgrims," he said.

In the future, the Bandung City Government also plans to implement traffic engineering in the area by implementing a one-way system to reduce density and potential congestion.

In addition, efforts to address extortion will continue to be strengthened through collaboration with regional elements.

This step is expected to minimize public complaints and create a more orderly, safe and comfortable pilgrimage atmosphere.
