PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim launched the Scheduled Sludge Service in Tanah Baru (5/5/2026) to improve sanitation and environmental health of residents.
This program is run by the Regional Public Company Tirta Pakuan of Bogor City together with the Regional Public Company Trans Pakuan of Bogor City through service collaboration.
A total of four Periodic Septic Tank Management fleets are prepared to serve 6,000 customers in North Bogor free of charge in the initial phase.
Dedie Rachim said this service addresses the need for wastewater management, which has not been optimal so far.
"We must respond to the mandate of the new law on clean water and wastewater management. There are targets that local governments must achieve, namely managing not only clean water through PDAM services but also wastewater," said Dedie Rachim.
This service prevents environmental pollution while reducing the risk of disease due to poor sanitation.
"We are utilizing and maximizing the regional government's network, specifically the regional public utility (Perumda) that provides clean water and transportation services. Otherwise, it will be difficult to achieve optimal results," said Dedie Rachim.
Rino Indira Gusniawan, President Director of Perumda Tirta Pakuan in Bogor City, stated that the current installation capacity is 30 cubic meters per day, so it needs to be expanded to reach more residents.
"For the initial stage, it's still free until further guidance is provided. In time, once a culture of wastewater management has been established, adjustments will be implemented," said Rino.
This program is targeted at building new habits of safer and more scheduled household waste management.
