PORTALJABAR, BOGOR CITY - Bogor City will be one of the hosts for the 2026 West Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).
In order to make this a success, the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) plans to renovate the Pajajaran Sports Arena Stadium (GOR).
As part of Bogor City's preparations, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim is committed to learning and improving stadium management.
He and the Head of the Sports Service (Kadispora), Taufik, departed for Joyokusumo Stadium in Pati Regency and two stadiums in Kudus Regency, Wergu Wetan Stadium and Supersoccer Arena Stadium.
In relation to the renovation plan for the Pajajaran Sports Hall, Dedie Rachim said that he needed to see and learn directly from stadiums that have the same capacity.
"Including the type of grass and supporting facilities," he said, Wednesday (23/4/2025).
Dedie Rachim added that the similarity between Joyokusumo Stadium, Mergo Wetan Kudus Stadium, and Supersoccer Arena is that they have a capacity of around 5,000 spectators.
"According to the capacity of the Pajajaran Stadium in Bogor," said Dedie Rachim.
Dedie Rachim emphasized that the stadium is not only a place for matches, but also a training center for athletes.
"This is Bogor City's commitment to continue learning in stadium management as part of Bogor City's preparation to host Porprov 2026," he said.
Dedie Rachim added that the Porprov momentum is a good opportunity to see the ideal standards of sports facilities and at the same time learn from other regions in their management.
"It is important to make the stadium not only a venue for matches, but also a proper training center for athletes and a representative public space," said Dedie Rachim.
According to him, this visit was also to improve the quality of sports facilities and infrastructure owned by the City of Bogor, so that they can meet Porprov standards and have a positive impact on
public.
"I think after we saw it directly, it seems to be quite in line with my expectations, that to build a stadium at the city level, at least the references are Joyokusumo Stadium, Mergo Wetan Kudus Stadium, and Supersoccer Arena," said Dedie Rachim.
During his visit, Dedie Rachim admitted that he learned a lot about the various requirements needed to hold activities, such as leagues and other competitions.
Dedie said that this was an important lesson, especially in designing innovations as part of preparations to welcome Porprov 2026.
He hopes that his visit can be a valuable reference for stadium development in Bogor City.
"Alhamdulillah, we received a fairly good explanation from the Regional Secretary, Regional Assistant, and Head of the Pati Regency Youth and Sports Office. I would like to thank you for your welcome and explanation," said Dedie Rachim.
In the end, Dedie Rachim said about what he could bring to Bogor City, to be implemented later.
First, Pati Regency's experience in managing League 2.
"Second, we received a lot of input related to technical matters, such as drainage systems, safety requirements, and the fulfillment of accessibility for people with disabilities," he said. (Diskominfo Kota Bogor/rka)
