Bandung City Government and DPRD Determined to Improve Education Quality

PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is determined to equalize the quality of education. This is so that the number of students in each school can be more evenly distributed.

The Bandung City Government ensures that it is ready to collaborate with private schools. This is so that the school quota in Bandung City is more evenly distributed.

"We will collaborate so that the quota for students entering both private and public schools will be divided," said Deputy Mayor of Bandung Erwin after attending a gathering with the Bandung City Education Office, at the Al Jabbar Mosque, Wednesday (16/4/2025)

According to him, this was done so that private and state schools in Bandung City could survive and carry out learning activities well.

"So that private and public schools in Bandung City can survive," he said.

Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Asep Mulyadi, said that one of the levels of community welfare is the level of education.

"Access to education is considered to need to be improved. Data from 2024, the number of public elementary schools is 274 and private elementary schools are 198 schools. Meanwhile, public junior high schools are 75 schools and private schools are 186 schools," he said.

According to him, the city of Bandung needs studies and strategies for more equitable access to education.

"Schools must be accessible to all people. We also encourage schools to provide better quality education," he said. (Bandung City Communication and Information Service/UPI)
