PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) together with the Bandung City Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Communication Forum) are intensifying joint patrols throughout the city to maintain security and order during the school holiday season which coincides with the increase in tourist visits to Bandung City.

The strengthening of security was marked by the 2026 Joint Patrol Roll Call for Anticipating Street Crime on Jalan Dr. Ir. Soekarno led by the Mayor of Bandung, Muhammad Farhan, and attended by elements of the TNI/Polri, Satpol PP, the Transportation Agency, the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), regional elements, and various other related agencies.

Farhan stated that the joint patrols were an enhancement to existing routine activities. This measure was taken to ensure that Bandung remains safe and comfortable for residents and tourists during the holiday season.

"We have entered a period when Bandung will welcome more guests and tourists. Therefore, we must increase vigilance and ensure security for all Bandung residents and visitors," he said on Friday evening (June 12, 2026).

According to Farhan, the presence of local government elements along with security forces in the field is a form of commitment to providing a sense of security to the community.

"I believe that tonight is a moment for us to be present to provide a sense of security to the residents of Bandung and all visitors to Bandung. We will uphold law, justice, and order in Bandung," he said.

He explained that the joint patrol involved all elements of the Bandung City Government, starting from the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the Transportation Agency, Kesbangpol, sub-district heads, to regional elements.

All of these forces work in synergy with the TNI and Polri to maintain public security and order.

Farhan said that, in addition to dealing with the increasing number of tourists, joint patrols were also carried out as a precautionary measure against potential security disturbances, which often increase during school holidays.

"During school holidays, many people usually come to Bandung. Therefore, we must ensure that all visitors and Bandung residents feel truly safe and comfortable," he said.

Meanwhile, Bandung Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Dedi Supriyadi, said that the joint patrol that night involved around 350 personnel with the support of around 100 operational two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.

According to Dedi, all personnel are divided into three patrol zones to optimally cover all areas of Bandung City.

"In principle, these patrols are preventative in nature. The goal is to prevent the confluence of intentions and opportunities that could lead to crime or disrupt public order and security," he said.

He emphasized that authorities will enforce the law against perpetrators of criminal acts in accordance with applicable regulations. However, for perpetrators who are still children or adolescents, a guidance and protection approach will be prioritized.

This joint patrol continued until the early hours of Saturday, June 13, 2026. The joint team members searched the entire city of Bandung and were divided into western, central, and eastern squads.

Joint patrols will continue throughout the school holidays as part of efforts to keep Bandung safe, orderly, and conducive for all residents and tourists. (Bandung City Communications and Information Office/rka)
