PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) will take over the implementation of the 2026 West Java MTQ after the Garut Regency Government withdrew as host of the event.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that the West Java Provincial Government understands the limited budget of the Garut Regency Government, which means it cannot hold the 2026 West Java MTQ. Therefore, the West Java Provincial Government has decided to host the 2026 West Java MTQ, which will be held in January 2027.

"The West Java Provincial Government is the host. The opening ceremony will be held in the courtyard of Gedung Sate. The closing ceremony will be held at the Al Jabbar Mosque," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, on Sunday (2/8/2026).

He hopes the MTQ will be conducted fairly, including during the judging process. This is because this event serves as a momentum to spread Islamic teachings and teach Quranic values.

KDM also expressed his gratitude to all parties who had paid attention to the organization of the West Java MTQ.
