PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that no party has been appointed to manage Bandung Zoo. The Bandung City Government is currently conducting auditions to select an institution that will manage the zoo.

"Based on a report from the West Java Forestry Service yesterday, they said a decision cannot be made yet due to various considerations, including legal considerations," said KDM, Dedi Mulyadi's nickname, in Bandung, Wednesday (6/5/2026).

According to KDM, the Bandung City Government has requested one month for the Ministry of Forestry to consider which party will manage the Bandung Zoo.

If no decision is made, KDM prefers the West Java Provincial Government through the Regionally-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) to become the Zoo's manager with the aim of saving employees and preserving conservation.

"The province, through its regionally-owned enterprise (BUMD), is managing the zoo not for commercial purposes, but for employee safety and conservation purposes. Therefore, the area is in excellent condition, well-managed, and the forests are relatively intact, with large trees," he concluded.
