PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The West Java Provincial Government provides support and appreciation for the existence of the Sunda Consultative Assembly (MMS) as a space for friendship and a forum for exchanging ideas among Sundanese figures from various backgrounds.

This was conveyed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java Province, Herman Suryatman, when attending the Sunda Deliberative Council Meeting at the Imeri Building, FKUI, Central Jakarta, Saturday (8/8/2026).

"It's extraordinary. We, the West Java Provincial Government, are providing support and appreciation. Most importantly, we are seeing how the prominent figures in West Java who are members of the MMS can contribute ideas, criticism, and suggestions to improve development performance in West Java," said Herman.

According to Herman, the development of West Java requires collaboration and support from various elements of society, including figures who have experience, capacity, and concern for regional progress.

He hopes that MMS can become a strategic partner in providing input to the government, so that various development policies and programs can continue to be improved.

"Because ultimately the ultimate goal is how West Java will be Special," he said.

Herman emphasized that the goal of realizing a Special West Java status cannot be achieved by the government alone. It requires a spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation from all elements of society.

"And we have to work together, sarendeuk, saigel, sapihanean," he said.

He also specifically asked Sundanese figures who are members of MMS to continue providing constructive criticism and suggestions regarding the progress of development in West Java.

Herman added that this support is important because MMS brings together Sundanese figures from various fields who have experience and work at the regional and national levels.

The MMS meeting in Jakarta is part of the Milangkala Kadua series and a gathering place for Sundanese figures from various backgrounds. The forum brings together figures, academics, government officials, cultural figures, professionals, and various elements of society.

Throughout its journey, MMS has developed forums to discuss various issues, ranging from cultural, social, environmental, economic to national issues.

Through the Pasamoan Inohong Sunda in Jakarta, this space for encounter has been expanded. Jakarta has become a crucial hub because many Sundanese figures have made national contributions in various fields, from government and academics to professionals, social work, culture, and community service.
