YOGYAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) has won the 2026 Best Outstanding Regional Government Award at the provincial level in the Poverty Alleviation and Stunting Reduction category. This award was given based on an assessment of the regional government's performance and commitment to integrated poverty alleviation and stunting reduction.

The assessment includes program convergence, service delivery, and the effectiveness of village-level interventions. Furthermore, the rate of stunting and poverty reduction are assessed as tangible outcomes.

The award from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Metro TV was presented to West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi at the Grand Ballroom of the Yogyakarta Marriott Hotel, Thursday (4/6/2026).

Dedi, known as KDM, stated that this award is a testament to the performance of regents, mayors, village and sub-district heads, neighborhood unit (RT) and community unit (RW) heads, and integrated health post (Posyandu) cadres across West Java in reducing poverty and stunting. He also expressed his gratitude to the people of West Java for their hard work.

According to KDM, the community needs to continue working together to reduce poverty. One way to do this is by purchasing daily necessities from small vendors.

"Middle- and upper-class people should shop in their local communities, such as at stalls and street vendors, so that poverty levels continue to decrease," said KDM.

He also advised the people of West Java to continue to care for and provide care for one another, especially to malnourished children. If you see children suffering from malnutrition, immediately provide them with nutritious food.
