PORTALJABAR, SUBANG REGENCY - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) will revitalize 32 hectares of the Jalupang Rubber Plantation in Dawuan District, Subang Regency. Initially, 4,200 rubber seedlings were planted on the 7-hectare plot, and maintenance is currently underway.

The garden was previously converted into a cassava garden and was cultivated by the local community.

Head of the West Java Plantation Service, Gandjar Yidniarsa, said that monitoring results showed that the planted seedlings were able to adapt to the environment.
"New shoots have grown, the death rate is less than 1 percent or less than 10 trees," said Gandjar, Monday (31/8/2026).

The Jalupang Rubber Plantation is now greener with the growth of rubber trees.

Furthermore, garden revitalization has an impact on the soil, which now contains more nutrients. Nutrients are needed by plants for normal growth, development, and metabolism.
The outskirts of the revitalized garden are used by residents as a source of additional income by planting other commodities such as coconuts and lemongrass.

The revitalization of the Jalupang Rubber Plantation also provides employment benefits. Former cassava farmers who previously worked the land at the Jalupang Plantation are being involved in the revitalization process.

The revitalization of the Jalupang Rubber Plantation, as instructed by West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, will continue. During the rainy season in October 2026, rubber tree planting will be intensified, achieving the target of revitalizing the 32-hectare Jalupang Rubber Plantation by the end of 2026. Field officers are currently preparing holes for planting the rubber trees.
