PORTALJABAR, PURWAKARTA REGENCY - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) distributed 1,500 kilograms of Regional Government Food Reserve (CPPD) rice to 150 Heads of Families (KK) in Decile 1–5 categories in Bojong Timur Village, Bojong District, Purwakarta Regency, Thursday (3/9/2026). In addition, 300 Day Old Chicks (DOC) were also distributed to 30 beneficiary families.

The provision of assistance is a collaboration between the Food Security and Animal Husbandry Service (DKPP) and the West Java Social Service in the "Participation Monitoring of Food Security Social Assistance" activity.

The Head of the West Java Province DKPP, Linda Al Amin, said that the provision of rice and DOC assistance is a manifestation of the government's presence to meet short-term needs while fostering long-term food independence.

Specifically for DOC assistance, this intervention is aimed at enabling communities to independently meet their animal protein needs.

"We want food aid to open up opportunities for communities to become more self-sufficient. This DOC aid is expected to be a source of food and a potential source of home business development if managed properly," he added.

After the assistance was provided, the joint team then carried out supervision and factual verification.

"This social assistance monitoring activity isn't just about ensuring aid is distributed, but also directly checking the condition of recipients on the ground. We want to ensure this aid reaches the right targets and provides real benefits," said Linda.

The joint team then conducted ground checks , or direct inspections, of residents' homes. This step focused on families in Decile 1 identified as not having received assistance.

Ground checks are a crucial stage in verifying the conformity of recipient data with real conditions in a transparent and accountable manner.

"Verification and ground checks are crucial to ensure that no one in need is overlooked by the government. Accurate data is the foundation of an effective program," Linda emphasized.

This cross-sectoral activity also involved the West Java Provincial DP3AKB (Regional Empowerment and Child Protection Agency), the Purwakarta Regency Social Service, the Purwakarta Regency Social Security Agency (BPJS), the Purwakarta Regency Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Bojong Timur Village apparatus. This collaboration demonstrates that addressing community welfare requires synergy from upstream to downstream.

Moving forward, the West Java Provincial Government is committed to continuously strengthening synergies with district and village governments to ensure that all social assistance is properly monitored.
