JAKARTA - The West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov), represented by the Head of the West Java Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD), received the 2026 National Governance Awards in the Outstanding Province in Digital Transformation and Public Services Reform category from Metro TV. The award recognizes regional heads, provincial, district, and city governments who have successfully delivered tangible breakthroughs for the community. The award was presented by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini.

This award also coincides with the commemoration of Regional Autonomy Day, which falls on April 25th. Since the implementation of regional autonomy, provincial, district, and city governments have played a strategic role in providing quality public services, accelerating regional economic development, and improving public welfare.

West Java Regional Personnel Agency (BKD) Head Dedi Supandi expressed his gratitude for the award from Metro TV. The use of digital technology has facilitated the West Java Provincial Government's faster and more efficient service delivery to the public. The provision of digital technology has also made government operations more transparent.

"Digital transformation within the government is essential for us to move quickly to serve the public and improve our services," said Dedi at the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Friday (April 24, 2026).

The West Java Provincial Government has developed several digital technology innovations, such as Tapal Desa (Village Data). This innovation is a digital-based village potential data collection system that integrates population, infrastructure, and potential data. This data is crucial for verification, validation, and systematic village development decision-making based on accurate information.

The West Java Provincial Government also has the Open Data Jabar innovation. This platform reinforces the West Java Provincial Government's commitment to providing valid, easily accessible data that can be utilized by all elements of society, academics, and businesses.

Metro TV CEO Arief Suditomo said that in recent years, many regional heads have demonstrated innovative leadership through various policy breakthroughs, the use of digital technology, bureaucratic reforms, and development programs that have a direct impact on the community.

This success not only strengthens local governance but also inspires other regions to build more transparent, accountable, and adaptive government systems. Therefore, the government's efforts are worthy of appreciation.

"Through this award, we hope to create a governance ecosystem that is increasingly competitive, innovative, and oriented towards quality public services," said Arief.
