PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government has opened registration for the second phase of the New Student Admission System for Elementary and Junior High School levels through domicile and transfer channels from June 22-26, 2026, to expand access to education for prospective students for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Registration is carried out online via the spmb.bandung.go.id page with a selection process according to the provisions of each pathway.
Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Asep Saeful Gufron, urged parents to ensure that all required data and documents have been uploaded completely.
"Parents of new students, phase 2 has opened. Please select your pathway and school according to the requirements. Ensure the data uploaded during registration is correct and complete, as it will be validated and verified by the designated school," said Asep in Bandung (June 22, 2026).
Asep asked parents to ensure that the coordinates match the address on the Family Card so that the verification process runs smoothly.
The selection process for elementary school domicile pathways prioritizes the age of prospective students according to the admission quota provisions.
If the age of applicants within the quota limit is the same, the school will determine the selection results based on the distance of domicile.
Meanwhile, the selection process for Junior High School domicile pathways prioritizes the distance from the residence to the target school.
If there is a gap in the quota limit, the school will use the age of the prospective student as a determinant.
"Make sure the coordinates are correct so that there are no obstacles during verification and validation by the target school," he said.
For the transfer route, prospective students are required to fulfill the general requirements and special requirements according to the registration provisions.
The quota for transfer pathways at Elementary and Middle School levels is set at five percent of the total capacity.
Special requirements for the transfer pathway include a letter of transfer of duties from parents or guardians issued no later than (22/6/2025).
Prospective students must also attach a certificate of change of domicile from the local Neighborhood Association and Citizens' Association.
The transfer route for teachers' children only applies to schools where their parents teach or work.
The domicile quota reaches 80 percent for Elementary Schools and 40 percent for Middle Schools.
The main requirement for the domicile route is that the Family Card must be issued at least one year before the registration period.
In addition to opening access to educational services, the Bandung City Government also reminds the public to avoid the practice of gratuities, extortion, and bribery during the new student admission process.
"Make the most of this final step. If you encounter any problems or difficulties registering, please contact your school of origin, your destination school, or the nearest school for assistance. You can also utilize the chatbox service," he said.
"Come on, ladies and gentlemen, let's work together to ensure that SPMB (School of Excellence) has integrity in Bandung. The priority is for children to continue their education, whether in public or private institutions. I'm confident that your children will excel. God willing, they will achieve success wherever they go, thanks to the strong support of their parents," he said.
