JAKARTA-- A total of 150 West Java students completed the Pancawaluya Character Education program for Class VIII of 2026 at the Hartono Marine Corps in Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday (June 1, 2026). The activity was closed by the Assistant for Government and Public Welfare (Asda I) of the West Java Regional Secretariat, Asep Sukmana.

Asep also reminded the graduates that in this dynamic era of globalization, intellectual intelligence and technological mastery will mean nothing if not accompanied by moral strength. "Intelligence without morals will only breed greed. Power without morals will only lead to destruction. Through Pancawaluya, we are building a generation that is not only intelligent in its intellect, but also gentle in heart, strong in spirit, and steadfast in faith," he said.

He also emphasized that West Java is currently moving toward a new future based on technology, culture, and character. He hopes that Pancawaluya will become more than just an annual ceremonial program, but rather a vibrant moral and cultural movement within the community.

Moral Investment Towards West Java's Future

Similarly, Iis Rostiasih, Head of the High School Development Division at the West Java Education Office, stated that this program is a moral and spiritual investment for the future of West Java. A region's progress is determined not only by physical development but also by the quality of its human resources.

"We want to cultivate a generation of West Javanese with superior character, high competitiveness, and a strong sense of social responsibility," he said.

Parental Appreciation and Real Student Change

This semi-military program has also received a positive response from the students' parents. Adiki Ganesa, a parent from Bandung Regency, expressed pride in the changes his child has seen.

He also expressed his gratitude to the West Java Education Office for this innovative program. "This activity is extraordinary and excellent for building the character of young people so they can become independent. Thank you for this very innovative program. We hope it continues," he said.

The participants also felt immediate benefits. One of the eighth-graders, Rafaal Faik, acknowledged that discipline during his studies had transformed his negative behavior into positive ones.

"I'm proud to be able to participate in this program. Pancawaluya has successfully transformed my personality, which used to be somewhat naughty and undisciplined. Here, I've been tempered and transformed into a better person. Thank you very much for this military-style character education program," he admitted.

The coach, Second Lieutenant Is Bani Amansyah, also delivered a profound message. He reminded the students to always respect and be devoted to their parents. "Being devoted to your parents is number one. One day, when you're successful, let the coach know. Never disappoint your parents," he said.

After the closing, all participants returned to their respective homes and schools with a renewed spirit to become better, more disciplined, and more responsible individuals.
