PORTALJABAR, BANDUNG CITY - The Bandung City Government continues to intensify enforcement of the use of noisy exhausts in an effort to maintain public order and comfort. Enforcement will focus on vehicle users using substandard exhausts on the road.

Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan said that handling the problem of noisy exhausts cannot be done instantly because it must consider various aspects of applicable regulations.

In a press conference at Bandung City Hall on Tuesday (June 2, 2026), Farhan admitted that he actually wanted to take direct action against the sources of the brong exhaust distribution. However, this measure ran afoul of legal provisions governing the trade and industry sectors.

"I actually wanted to raid the store, but I couldn't. It's related to trade laws and other things, and we can't just do anything," he said.

Farhan explained that most of the Brong exhausts are domestic products, so action against producers and sellers needs to be taken carefully to avoid impacting local industry players.

Therefore, the Bandung City Government has chosen to strengthen supervision and enforcement in the field by targeting vehicles that use exhausts that do not meet standards.

"In principle, if noisy exhausts are used on the road, we will definitely take action through raids," he said.

The enforcement will be carried out routinely through joint operations involving the police and the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) as part of efforts to create a safe, orderly, and comfortable environment for the community.

According to Farhan, the noise from noisy exhausts often leads to complaints from residents, especially in residential areas. Therefore, enforcing regulations on road users is considered the most effective measure at this time.

In addition to routine raids, the Bandung City Government also continues to coordinate with the police to ensure that enforcement is consistent and provides a deterrent effect for violators.

"It's annoying, but we have to handle it wisely. The important thing is that we maintain order on the road," he said.
